My ATKG Scrapbook

My experience at ATKG has been exciting, fulfilling, and honestly just plain fun. I started as an intern in January of 2017 and became a full-time staff in May of 2018 after graduating grad school. During my time at ATKG, I have learned a ton about taxes, the general world of accounting, and even how to take care of a fish tank. We work hard at the office, but we also take the time to celebrate accomplishments and have fun with our coworkers. This is my scrapbook of some of the greatest times I have had at ATKG as a reminder that choosing to work here is the BEST decision I could have made!

My journey with ATKG started all the way back in May of 2016 when I interviewed for an internship. My friend Judi worked there, and she always had fun pictures and stories from work, so it had to be a pretty cool place, right? After I got the offer to be an intern, I also got invited to go to ATKG’s Lake Day. This is the first time I got to connect with many of the great ATKG-ers. I haven’t missed a lake day since!

After my first tax season, I got to experience all of the fun of deadline celebrations! For the March 15th deadline, ATKG plays a March Madness style 10-key competition. I may have only made it to the second round, but I lost to Jan (who has won the whole tournament previously), so I still consider it a good effort!

To celebrate moving to our new office, ATKG had an open house fiesta for all of our clients and affiliates! My favorite part was definitely the mechanical bull we set up in the courtyard.

In the summer of 2017, we had a teambuilding day with the entire firm that consisted of challenges at Stunt Ranch, a Buccee’s scavenger hunt, and a trip to a winery! At the stunt ranch we went on a zipline, raced in life-size hamster balls, and jumped off a tower onto a stunt mattress. It was the most adventurous day of my internship for sure!

In the fall of 2018, I moved to Austin to get my master’s in professional accounting degree. While I was gone, I still got to be a part of the team celebrations. I got to catch up with my coworkers at the September 15th deadline party and the Christmas party!

Even though most of my days at work are actually spent in the office instead of at stunt ranches, I’m lucky to work somewhere that I enjoy coming to work everyday. I absolutely love my job and the people I get to do it with! My coworkers are some of the smartest, funniest, and high-achieving humans I have met. Cheers to my ATKG family and all the scrapbook worthy memories we will make going forward!
