ATKG Announces 2019 Promotions

Since its founding in 1982, ATKG has continued to grow in a myriad of ways. From services offered to the all-star team of intelligent and creative professionals who support our clients and their unique needs, we are always looking to the future. As we continue to grow and live-out our mission to enhance prosperity for our clients, ATKG is proud to announce the following promotions.

A.J. Sturm, Partner

A.J. joined the firm in 2017 as a principal. He graduated with High Honors and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He has over 19-years’ experience, 13 of which entailed running his own CPA firm.  While his business acumen is broad, his areas of expertise include financial statement compilations and reviews, business tax compliance, internal control analysis, and litigation support.  He passionately serves clients in the construction, real estate, retail, professional services, technology, non-profit and investment industries.

Samanta Guerra, Senior Manager

Samanta graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Her public accounting experience includes a variety of industries: oil and gas, restaurants, real estate and construction, professional services, manufacturing, retail, and nonprofits. Samanta has been a member of the ATKG team since 2015 where she focuses her time on providing clients with excellent tax services and serving as our in-house international tax guru.

Kim Alaniz, Manager

Kim received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University. Kim joined ATKG in 2013 and has built a wealth of knowledge in tax services for clients in the retail and family office industries. In addition, Kim also performs cost segregation studies and contributes in litigation support services at ATKG.

Kalyn Carroll, Manager

Kalyn joined the ATKG team in November 2017.  A true Aggie, she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and her Master of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University.  Kalyn comes to us with tax experience in estate planning, real estate, oil and gas, ranches, family office, and non-profits after having spent time with both the Big Four and another local firm.

Brandon Howard, Manager

Brandon received his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Accountancy from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Since joining the ATKG team in 2014, Brandon has developed tax expertise in industries including oil and gas, restaurants, retail, and high net-worth families. Brandon received the Rising Star Award in 2018, an honor from the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants for individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills in the accounting profession and their communities. Since 2016, Brandon has also served as an adjunct instructor at UTSA for the Department of Accounting.

Judi Molina, Manager

Judi began her journey with ATKG in 2014 after graduating Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Judi provides ATKG’s clients with tax and consulting services in industries including real estate, retail, family office, and professional services. Bolstering her professional background, Judi is a graduate of the Institute for Developing Excellence in Accounting Leadership program (iDeal 2.0), which is hosted by the San Antonio CPA Society.

Amy Kaster, Creative Manager

Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy, Amy began her career at ATKG in 2012. While her career initially started in client service, Amy’s creative interests and talents took center stage as she grew more involved in the firm’s marketing and recruiting efforts.
